{"id":89,"date":"2008-12-20T14:22:00","date_gmt":"2008-12-20T19:22:00","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/newblog.anonymousmanager.com\/blog\/?p=89"},"modified":"2009-01-19T20:57:47","modified_gmt":"2009-01-20T01:57:47","slug":"sound-like-today-much","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/anonymousmanager.com\/blog\/2008\/12\/sound-like-today-much\/","title":{"rendered":"Sound like today much?"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>I got this directly from the <a href=\"http:\/\/theboard.blogs.nytimes.com\/2008\/12\/19\/something-new-to-worry-about-deflation\/\">NY Times&#8230;<\/a> \u00a0So I don&#8217;t get credit for finding this piece, but in 1933, an American economist by the name of Irving Fisher had this to say&#8230;<\/p>\n<blockquote><p>Banks concerned about their corporate customers\u2019 indebtedness demand debt liquidation, which forces firms to sell off assets at fire-sale prices to pay them back.<\/p><\/blockquote>\n<blockquote><p>Money in circulation declines as banks hoard the dollars, which causes spending to drop and prices to fall, depressing businesses\u2019 net worth and profits and throwing many into bankruptcy.<\/p><\/blockquote>\n<blockquote><p>Production is cut; workers are laid off.
